March of Dimes
Today we walked in the March of Dimes Walkmania. Our class raised well over $100.00. Griffith Elementary was recognized for being number three in the nation last year for money raised for the March of Dimes. Children raising over $50.00 were Gael Romero and Angel Lopez.

Purple and Gold Parade
We had great fun at the Homecoming Parade. We made a sign for our peer tutor Brianna Scott. Brianna is a Senior at SCHS and comes in each morning to help us out. All the kids love Ms. Brianna. We made pom-poms and cheered as the football team went by our spot. We cheered for my son Will who is a Junior this year. We were sad when the parade was over. Seth wanted to have another parade.

Bears
We had a great week learning about Bears and the letter Bb. We learned that bears come in different colors, bears like to sleep during the day and hibernate in winter. We learned what bears like to eat. On Wednesday we read The Three Bears and and made porridge. On Friday we had a made Teddy Bear Biscuits, had a Teddy Bear Parade, and had a Teddy Bear Tea Party. See below for some great pictures from the week.

Apple Dumplins
On Friday we made apple dumplings. Here is the recipe for apple dumplings if you would like to make them at home. You will need the following:
- Apples
- Crescent Rolls
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Butter
Sprite
To make: Peel apples and cut into quarters. Roll apples slices up in crescent roll and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Place dumplings in baking dish and pour melted butter and bottle of Sprite over the dumplings. Bake until brown in a 350 degree oven. Makes a tasty Fall treat.
